E&L Enterprises was entrusted with the full structural steel package for the Smart Mall Project, a three-storey commercial development designed to accommodate large public footfall while maintaining structural efficiency and long-term durability.

The project required a complete design-and-build steel solution, delivered to tight tolerances across all stages, from engineering and fabrication through to surface preparation and installation.

Structural design and engineering

E&L managed the design and build of the steel structure, working in close coordination with the wider project team to ensure structural integrity, buildability, and compliance with all technical requirements.

Detailed fabrication drawings were developed to support efficient production and precise on-site assembly, ensuring consistency across the entire steel framework of the mall.

Fabrication and production

The steel structure was fabricated in-house using controlled manufacturing processes to meet strict dimensional tolerances. The scale of the project required careful sequencing and quality control to ensure that all components aligned accurately during installation.

All fabricated elements were prepared to support efficient transport, handling, and erection on site, reducing delays and minimising the need for modifications during assembly.

Surface preparation and protection

As part of the scope of works, all steel components underwent blasting and epoxy primer coating. This process ensured a clean, prepared surface and provided essential protection against corrosion, supporting the long-term performance of the structure in a commercial environment.

The application of protective coatings was carried out under controlled conditions to maintain consistency and quality across all steel elements.

Installation and coordination

E&L Enterprises also carried out the installation of the steel structure, coordinating closely with site teams to ensure safe, efficient, and accurate erection. Installation activities were carefully planned to align with the overall construction programme and other trades on site.

The combination of precise fabrication and structured installation planning enabled the steel framework to be completed efficiently and to specification.
