Project overview

E&L Enterprises supported the construction of environmentally focused storage facilities developed for the Water Services Corporation. The project involved the fabrication and installation of structural steel elements for warehouse units incorporating a multi-level internal storage system, designed to maximise space efficiency while meeting strict safety and performance requirements.

With a steel tonnage of approximately 360 tonnes, the project required a robust structural solution capable of supporting heavy storage loads and long-term operational use.

Structural fabrication

E&L was responsible for the fabrication of all steel components forming the warehouse structures and internal storage system. Each element was produced to precise dimensions to ensure accurate assembly and structural stability across multiple levels.

The fabrication process was carefully planned to support efficient installation and to ensure compatibility between primary structural elements and the internal storage framework.

Surface preparation and fire protection

As part of the scope of works, all steel components underwent controlled blasting prior to the application of a 90-minute intumescent fire protection system. This fire-resistant coating was specified to meet the project’s safety requirements, providing critical fire performance for the storage facilities.

The application process was carried out under controlled conditions to ensure consistent coverage, adhesion, and compliance with project specifications.

Installation and coordination

E&L also carried out the installation of the steel structures and internal storage systems, coordinating closely with site teams to ensure accurate positioning and secure assembly. Installation activities were sequenced to support efficient construction while maintaining a strong focus on safety and quality.
